"Snake in the Grass". From my album, "Ouroborosuite", released on March 27, 2026. Video below.
Soprano Saxophone; Alto Saxophone; Clarinet; Bass Clarinet; Electric Cello; Timpani Programming.
Written and performed by Collin Sherman. The video is AI (the music is not). Although the album as a whole has a political bent, the video takes a more apolitical, fanciful flourish.

Trying to avoid having a tonal center.
Spectral Bass Clarinet. Soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, electric cello, synths. Written and performed by Collin Sherman, June 27, 2026. Video below.
This is another "spectral" composition, this time using the harmonic spectrum created by a low G (concert F) on the bass clarinet to inform the harmonies played by the other instruments. I also use GRM's Atelier softsynth to plot out the first 16 notes of the harmonic spectrum from the bass clarinet note to create a drone, then use a series of comb filters to emphasize different parts over time. I also used Atelier to loop a sample of the bass clarinet's low G, layer it, and add delays, filters, and other oscillation for movement.
